I have several friends who lost their houses in the Paradise fire. I'll never forget one saying she used to go to Walmart to buy a few things - but then after the fire she needed EVERYTHING'. What a hopeless feeling ๐Ÿ’” I worked in the animal shelters during the evacuations- some animals never did get reunited - heart crushing

I'm so sorry to hear about your friends' homes. Those fires were terrible. It is just the worst feeling. And for some strange reason I took it personally. I felt it had been done to me. The firefighters destroyed a lot of things. Not just with water. They tore out ceilings and made holes in the walls. My son's door, where I had put a cat to eat his special diet food just before, was broken in half. The top was still closed. The bottom gone. I suppose they needed to see if anyone was inside. It wasn't locked, though. ??? It's just totally crushing. I lost journals and so many things that meant so much to me. I'm sentimental anyway. It was like I was starting everything over at age 42. There was nothing left from my past to even show I existed but anything my mom had. It's really hard mentally. I hope your friends are doing okay. So sad about the animals, too. ๐Ÿ˜ž
